Miss Aussie-fish Dock Dives!!!
The weather is on a roll now, thank goodness! Today it was 80 degrees and bright and sunny so we spent the day at the lake. We had a fabulous time canoeing, swimming, picnicking, and dock diving! While Kylie has always loved swimming and gets in any body of water any and every chance she gets, this was her very first try at dock diving. She was diving off of a floating boat dock so we are really proud of her enthusiasm and confidence! Hope you enjoy the first video taken with my new video camera, a video documenting Kylie’s first dock-diving splashes.

What an absolute blast! Looks like she loves to dive and fetch that stick…right on in the water. : )
She definitely loves it! The first time she walked onto the dock, she actually jumped right off and never even waited for Justin to throw the stick.
Sometimes we need to think like they do…just jump right on in with no fear.
I definitely agree!!
Your dogs must be loving summer. One of my dogs, a shepherd mix, has never liked water. The other can’t get enough. Great video. Your new equipment is really helping you do some great stuff.
They definitely love summer, as do we! I’m glad that you like the video and the new equipment is definitely helping me take my photography and videography to the next level. Hopefully I’ll just keep getting better and better!
Wow, I am SO impressed! My dogs need to step it up.
Thanks!! Your dogs are equally awesome, I am sure. I would love to see more pictures of them!
That is pure joy to watch!
I am glad that you enjoyed it, Debbie, and thanks for stopping by!
Looks like she was loving it!
She definitely was – she is a water-loving girl!
It looks like the perfect way to spend a nice day. Love the video quality, including the transitions and music. Very fun to watch!
It was a great day and made for great weekend. I’m glad that you like the video and that I was able to make it fun, just like Miss Kylie!
Justin looks completely prepared to jump in should Kylie need his help—no such concerns! She is a water baby
He would definitely jump in after her in a second if he had to, but like you said, Kylie is a water baby!
Kylie: You go, girl! A part of me was hoping Diesel would dive into the water, too.
Diesel loves swimming, but diving off of an unstable dock? Not so much. Hopefully he’ll get his sea legs the more he watches his little sister.
Too much fun! Keep them coming. Look forward to your posts!
Thanks for stopping by! Hope you’ll enjoy tales of our future doggie adventures
What fun! Lucky dogs!
They are lucky, spoiled dogs that love to have fun!
Nice dog diving video!
Thank you!
Awesome! It’s so fun to see them splash! Was that Kylie’s first jump, or did it take some coaxing to get her to jump like that?
The first jump in the video is her second jump, actually. Her first try, Justin took off her leash and she just ran off of the dock and jumped in as fast as she could, before Justin could even throw the stick! Kylie needs coaxing to get OUT of the water, but no to jump in lol. Diesel on the other hand, needs coaxing to jump in. He loves to swim but is still rather unsure about jumping off of a rocky dock. Hopefully he’ll be more confident the next time that we go out!
Oh, that’s so cool. I’m really jealous (in a good way)…One of my biggest regrets is that George hates water, so no chance of a pond, lake, river or sea adventure with him.
Kylie and Diesel both love the water. But Bailey, being the supposed lab mix of the family, does not like swimming!! He will however play in the water. Evee will avoid water at all costs.
George says, “I was born to run fast, not swim, Mom!”
He does say that, true. But I’d like him to do both, run AND swim fast. Is that too much to ask?
How old is he now? Diesel has been getting much more confident as he’s gotten older, so maybe George will get his sea legs with time.
He’ll be 3 this summer, so he’s still a young dog, really. I’d love him to find his ‘sea legs’ as you say, but I’m not holding my breath. Whippets are notorious for not liking water. There are some exceptions, of course, but I don’t think George is one of them. But, if Diesel discovered the pleasure of swimming later in life, maybe there’s still hope for George. Not a big problem, anyway, it’s just that I’d like him to enjoy himself more.
Bailey just turned 3 this month and we’ve really seen a difference these past few months in his personality. He seems much more confident and more outgoing and sure of himself! Diesel is still a baby, in my mind anyway, at 1.5-years-old but has gotten more and more confident as the months go by. He used to avoid water but now he jumps right in with no hesitation after Kylie. Whether or not George ever comes to enjoy water on his own, I’m sure that he’ll at least be comfortable around it soon enough (as Bailey now is).
